Dr. Masami Suzuki, after completed Master's degree in Keio University, joined KDD (now KDDI, one of major telecommunication companies in Japan) and has been engaged in research and development on applied technology of natural language processing at the company's R&D laboratory. He was also at ATR Interpreting Telephony Research Laboratories (1989-1993) and ATR Media Information Science Laboratories (2002-2005). respectively.

He continues research activities on intelligence and educational media at KDDI Research, Inc. His interests are always about interdisciplinary domain of human communication including cross-cultural interchange support. He received Ph.D. degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology. Recently he served as chairperson of SIG-TL (Thought and Language research) of IEICE.
